Hi Husna - thank you!! I usually use a combination of things depending on what kind of silk I'm painting on (found MS doesn't give me a crisp edge on chiffon) and also depending on the subject. So it's often a combination of MS, thickened dye (using Dharma's superclear thickener) and just dye to get the loose watercolor look on the flower petals. It's a real balancing act to get just the right "control" of the dye --- as you know!!!! Lynn
Hi Husna
Thank you for your compliment about my work! I have looked at your paintings and I especially love "colour of orchids" and "abstract amarylis". Yes I do love colour but I am also very interested in abstraction or semi abstraction and manage to do this in other media but somehow on silk I keep ending up painting more realistically! I wonder because of your painting "abstract amarylis" and some of your other work if you are also interested in abstraction?
Pauline
Thanks so much for your wonderful compliments - isn't this a great site?
It's so fun -and inspiring!- to see the works of all the different artists -- such different styles and techniques!!! I love your color combinations - particularly the magenta and turquoise -- I guess you can tell I love the bold, bright colors as you do! Stay in touch! Lynn
Dear Husna,
