Yes it is possible to paint over previously steamed dye...it is called over-dying I believe (I may be wrong). Since this piece now has an owner who has framed and hung it...I no longer have to worry about the background! Whew! =] Thanks again for ...

The heart is amazing! If you are not happy with the background, is it possible to go back and over it with larger flames so the texture would show through?

- About Me:
- I'm a self taught artist who discovered the magnificent world of silk painting in the late '90's while watching dancers float across the stage while using silk flags, banners and streamers. I was immediately enamored by the beauty and the flow of the silks and knew then I had to find out how to create such beauty!
After several years of self discovery (and lots of trial and error - not to mention the many books I read from cover to cover!) I finally felt confident enough to sell a few pieces of my artwork.
I have found silk painting to be the most inspiring of artistic genres I have ever experienced. Inspired by the works of others, I strive to try new techniques whenever I can.
Austin provides me (and many other artists) the environment to which I can be both creatively inspired and encouraged.
