Thank you, Mari! This is such an inspiring forum with so many helpful, accomplished artists and I am happy to be a part of the network. As someone just starting out, I'm thankful to be able to have some of my questions answered by those much more experienced, and I hope that I am able to help other artists in some way as well! I started a blog, documenting my trials, tribulations, and discoveries with very basic silk painting techniques... perhaps some of the newbies might find something on it helpful: joyinmystudio.blogspot.com.

Hi Joanna...welcome to the Group....look forward to seeing some of your work. You are surrounded by wonderful Silk Artist with great experiece that will help in your exploration of different ideas and products as you have already seen. Some of us Silk Paint for a living and others as hobbies...either way ... we will all tavel up the same road...faced with the same issues...know that we are here to help in any way we can.

Welcome Sandy, to Silk Painting Basics....your work is most beautiful and detailed. Please feel free to share any ideas or help us solve any challenges that we may encounter here . Sometimes ... no matter how long we have been dyeing or painting silk ...we still come up with new situations that require more imagination to solve ..or we use new products and it is like starting all over again... that is when we start asking questions....look forward to any ideas you may want to share.

Hello friends..hope everyone is well in health...now that the holidays are approaching, you may want to create some silk paintings in the form of scarves or wall hangings for friends and family. This will be the time you will be challenged and when the questions will come up. We are here to help you ....feel free to ask, or share any ideas you have.

Welcome GOPI KANTA GHOSH, it is a pleasure to have you as part of this group and to Silk Painting Network. I was not able to open the documents regarding textiles...I would like to know how we can help in the documentation natural dyes... I do not have access to natural dyes and do not know how accessible they are but will help in anything that has to do with the improvement of our environment. The work displayed on your page ..batik...is this your work? Let us know how we can help....Mari

This is just a quick tip....mostly for those starting out ...it is good to take a photos of your work...sometimes you may sell the piece or you may give it as a gift ... it is great to have it documented .....this is the best way to build on your own work and get ideas for future projects...and see yourself grow.
